About Our Textile Laboratory
Founded in 2021 by veteran polymer chemists and apparel production engineers, Quiva Jelly Tornad is an independent research platform established to demystify garment fiber claims. We operate free from sponsorship from commercial fast-fashion conglomerates or synthetic resin manufacturers.
Standardized Testing Methodologies
Consumer clothing labels are frequently manipulated by marketing jargon: terms such as "dry-tech," "thermal-cooling," and "bamboo-silk" often obscure cheap petroleum fills or standard viscose derivations.
Our testing procedures rely strictly on recognized international standards:
- ISO 13934-1: Determination of maximum force and elongation of fabrics using the strip method.
- ASTM D737: Standard test method for air permeability of textile fabrics under controlled vacuum draw.
- ISO 11092 (Sweating Guarded Hotplate): Measurement of thermal resistance (Rct) and water-vapor resistance (Ret).
- AATCC TM195: Liquid moisture management properties of textile fabrics across multidirectional sensor rings.
Our Scientific Mission
We provide retail consumers, textile students, and ethical designers with verified physical data. By understanding the thermodynamic properties of natural keratin, plant cellulose, and extruded polymers, shoppers can invest in garments that perform properly and endure for decades.
Zero Corporate Sponsorship
We do not accept paid affiliate placements or promotional textile samples. All fabric bolts tested in our facility are purchased off retail racks anonymously.
Open Data Transparency
Our tensile stress-strain curves, moisture absorption rates, and microfiber shedding counts are published openly under creative commons attribution.
Circular Economy Focus
We evaluate garments through their complete lifecycle: from raw fiber extraction to mechanical shredding, enzymatic digestion, and ocean degradation.
